Our Mission

New Pathways Therapy Centre is a collective of psychotherapists and clinical counsellors trained in somatic and integrative approaches to mental health. Our aim is to provide therapies to people who struggle with disorders of nervous system dysregulation such as complex trauma, anxiety, ADHD, brain injury, and chronic health disorders. We specialize in integrating EEG neurofeedback and somatic psychotherapy for trauma and other mental health problems.

New Pathways supports clinician well being and career development by offering a community of practice and opportunities for training in somatic, mindfulness and neuroscience based therapies.

We are conveniently located near the University of Toronto and offer affordable counselling services to students.

Our Values

diversity
Mental Health Matters

New Pathways endeavors to address the stigma of mental health in our society by providing professional, evidence based approaches that are non-pathologizing and respectful of individual experiences.

Diversity and Inclusion

We strive for inclusivity, and welcome all peoples from all genders, racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations and experiences. We also approach mental health from the perspective of “neurodiversity” and understand that an integrated and neurosequential approach to therapy validates the experience of people with highly sensitive nervous systems.

Accessibility

We believe that mental health services should be accessible to all people at different stages of their healing. We offer diverse ways to access services including online, short term, single session, group sessions and sliding scale/student run services. We are located in a wheelchair accessible location in downtown Toronto, steps from the University of Toronto campus.

Education

We acknowledge that learning is an essential and integral part of becoming a skilled therapist and for the ongoing development throughout our careers. We encourage collaborative learning through training opportunities, peer supervision, sharing of workshops, and other resources. Our focus for learning emphasizes innovative, compassionate therapies that are grounded in neuroscience and wisdom traditions.
