Registered Social Worker and Neurofeedback Practitioner

Headshot of Lynn Hill, RSW at New Pathways Therapy

Welcome!

My name is Lynn Hill and I am a Registered Social Worker and neurofeedback practitioner.  Over the years I have had the privilege of working with people who have experienced many types of losses including loss of employment, health and loved ones. I have helped people facing grief, chronic health issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I believe healing from life’s challenges takes time, effort and someone to walk with us through the process. Depending on where someone is in the process of healing, they may need a particular focus in therapy.  Sometimes this might be changing thoughts or behaviours, while other times gaining awareness of our emotions or bodily sensations might be most helpful.  Most recently I have focused my practice on addressing the physiological aspect of healing by getting trained in Infra-Low Frequency Neurofeedback (i.e. brain training), which is a powerful tool for regulating the brain and nervous system.

“I have worked primarily in healthcare settings, supporting individuals and their families facing chronic and life-limiting illnesses. This work has taught me the importance of living in the present with intentionality and purpose.”

My Background

I have a passion for helping people improve their brain and nervous system functioning.  My daughter and I both live with Chronic Lyme Disease and have benefited emotionally and physically from interventions that targeted our nervous systems. I also have experience working with people who have sensitive nervous systems, sometimes referred to as sensory processing sensitivity.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria and a Master’s of Education in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto.  I am a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

I look forward to working with you in a warm, welcoming and collaborative manner.

Harness the mind-body connection to create new pathways in your life.

At New Pathways Therapy Center, we believe therapy is a collaborative process. We don’t just sit back and listen. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing, balance and growth.
