Psychedelic Integration Therapy mushrooms at new pathways therapy in Toronto

The resurgence of interest in psychedelics has fuelled a new movement, or “renaissance” in the use of plant medicines and access of non ordinary states for mental health, creativity and personal growth.  New clinical research is showing promising results for the use of psychedelic substances in combination with psychotherapy for the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, addictions, and other mental health conditions.  Currently, these interventions are only available through ketamine clinics, people participating in clinical research trials, or through special medical access.

The underground nature of psychedelics has historically made it difficult for people to access therapy with trained, licensed therapists who understand how to support people who choose to have these experiences.  Our therapists are psychedelically informed offer a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space to process expanded states of consciousness for therapeutic reasons and personal transformation.

Disclaimer: At New Pathways, we take a harm-reduction approach to psychedelics. We do not promote or condone their use and recognize the physiological and psychological risks in doing so.   We are not a medical clinic and do not offer psychedelic sessions. We do not make referrals to research trials, underground therapists or advise on anything that is outside the scope of our practice.

“Psychedelic integration counselling is designed to provide a safe, client centred approach to supporting people who choose to use psychedelic medicines as part of their overall treatment plan for healing in mental health .”

Who is Integration Therapy For?

Integration counselling is designed to support people who choose to work with non ordinary states of consciousness as part of their treatment plan for mental health.  These can be accessed through ketamine, plant medicines, breath-work, or intensive meditation. Our therapists are trained to help people prepare and make sense of their psychedelic journeys or experiences of non ordinary states which can include the processing of positive experiences in order to bolster and integrate insights into daily life.  Individuals who have had challenging or frightening experiences can benefit from a safe and supportive environment to make sense of the difficult feelings often stirred up by psychedelics or other intensive mind altering experiences.

What does integration therapy look like?

Research shows that successful outcomes in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy are dependent on the integration counselling after the sessions.  At New Pathways, we work with somatic and mindfulness-based therapies to help you integrate the insights of expanded states of consciousness.  We help you synthesize the new experiences in both the body and mind by helping you bring awareness to the felt sense in the body, and make meaning of the new insights and ideas that often emerge from these journeys.

Harness the mind-body connection to create new pathways in your life.

At New Pathways Therapy Center, we believe therapy is a collaborative process. We don’t just sit back and listen. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing, balance and growth.
